Things are brewing in Toledo

Toledo’s Historic Main Street will once again fill with artists, live music and fun when Art, Oysters & Brews returns this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1 and 2.

The family-friendly festival features booths showcasing local and regional artists and makers, with everything from original paintings and jewelry to fresh bread and other handmade goods. Visitors can also enjoy live music throughout the weekend, a Kids Zone with art activities and nearby attractions including the Yaquina River Museum of Art’s First Weekend Art Celebration and Toledo’s self-guided mural walk.

Music begins Saturday with acoustic blues from Paul Schuytema, followed by the String Beat featuring award-winning guitarist Sonny Hess. Portland band The Strange Tones closes out the day with its blend of rockabilly, surf and R&B.

Sunday’s lineup features Pacific Northwest singer-songwriter Chris Barron and Two Secrets, followed by Wild Hog in the Woods, known for its humorous take on Americana roots music. The weekend concludes with the Ludicrous Speed Ska Review, bringing a horn-driven, high-energy ska performance to the festival stage.

The beer and wine garden will feature regional craft brews, wines and other beverages. Fresh oysters from Timbers Restaurant & Lounge will be joined by food from Fisherman’s Daughters, Cobblestone Pizza and Café 235.
