If the country’s early elimination in the 2026 World Cup left you aching for more things Brazilian, head to the Newport Performing Arts Center for the two concerts featuring Grammy-nominated Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1 and 2.

The weekend opens Saturday with Figueiredo joining Ella & the Bossa Beat for an evening of Brazilian jazz, bossa nova and Latin rhythms in the Alice Silverman Theatre. The ensemble blends jazz with Brazilian influences, while Figueiredo brings the virtuoso guitar playing that has made him a favorite at recent Oregon Coast Jazz Party festivals.

Figueiredo returns Sunday afternoon for a solo performance in the David Ogden Stiers Studio Theatre, offering audiences a closer look at his acclaimed musicianship in the Performing Arts Center’s smaller venue.

Saturday’s concert begins at 7 pm and Sunday’s at 2 pm at the Newport Performing Arts Center, located at 777 W. Olive Street in Newport. Tickets are $40, or $36 for Oregon Coast Council for the Arts members. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to coastarts.org or call 541-265-2787.
