Toledo’s monthly First Weekend art celebration, where visitors can explore galleries and artist studios throughout town, is joining forces with the annual Art, Oysters & Brews festival this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1 and 2. 

The Yaquina River Museum of Art, at the Vicarage House, will feature Ed Young’s vibrant painting “The Other Side Crew” from the museum’s permanent collection. Guests can enjoy refreshments and enter a free raffle for a mini art print while viewing the exhibit from noon to 4 pm both days.

Also at the Vicarage House, works by the late regional artist Michael Gibbons include “Gazing Globe in Our Garden,” a 2011 oil painting inspired by his beloved garden.

Just a block away, Ivan Kelly Studio-Gallery will showcase Kelly’s original oil paintings, including “Incoming at Seal Rock, Dawn,” a seascape that was selected as a Top 20 finalist in this year’s Modern Impressionist Salon competition. The gallery is open noon to 4 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Throughout August, Posh & Polished Salon will feature the whimsical paintings of Kim Woolfolk of Two Torties, with the artist on hand during the weekend.

Bruster’s Whimsy debuts a new diorama featuring hand-painted gladiators from the tabletop game Jugula, celebrating the artistry of miniature painting alongside the café’s collection of historical miniatures.
