Fresh air, fresh sounds

Brenda Andrus

The Rockaway Beach Music Festival will present two days of live music when it returns to the Rockaway Beach Wayside for a third year this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 15 and 16.

Presented by the Neah-Kah-Nie Coast Art and Music Cultural Foundation, the free festival features 12 performers representing a wide range of musical styles from indie rock and Americana to folk and singer-songwriter favorites. This year's lineup includes Sneakerwave, Brenda Andrus, Wes Youssi, The Upkeeps, Josefina Del Norte, Kill the Headlights, Mike Mannequin, Oklahoma Perfect, Kris Stuart, Mitch Whitaker, Metts Ryan Collins and MOLLY BANG.

Festivalgoers are encouraged to bring a chair and settle in for a weekend of music overlooking the Pacific. Those looking for reserved seating can purchase a limited number of VIP tickets, with proceeds supporting the foundation's mission to expand access to music, writing, arts and cultural programs on the North Oregon Coast, including opportunities for young people.

In addition to the performances, the festival features an artisan market showcasing local artists and makers, along with food from Garibaldi Portside Bistro and Tony's Beach Bites. A beer garden will offer beverages from Steeplejack Brewing and Harder Day Distilling.

The Rockaway Beach Music Festival runs from noon to 10 pm on Saturday, Aug. 15, and from noon to 6 pm on Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Rockaway Beach Wayside. For a complete performance schedule or VIP tickets, go to rbmusicfest.com.
