Star-t the holidays right in Waldport
The Waldport community will consider the holiday officially kicked-off when locals and visitors gather for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival at the Alsea Bay Bridge Visitor Center and Museum this Saturday, Dec. 6.
The celebration begins at noon and continues into the evening with music, family traditions and the glow of the community tree.
The Visitor Center will be open and offering free hot cocoa, coffee, treats, museum tours and visitor information. Families can browse the gift shop and enjoy holiday activities throughout the afternoon. At 3 pm, the First Baptist Church Community Carolers will fill the plaza with festive songs, followed by the arrival of Santa Claus at 3:30 pm. The Oregon Coast Chorus performs around the tree at 5 pm before the official tree lighting at 5:30 pm.
The festivities continue with the annual Candlelight Bridge Walk, a glowing community procession across the Alsea Bay Bridge presented by the Crestview Heights School Boosters and the National Junior Honors Society. Neighbors and guests are invited to take part in the peaceful walk, with volunteers guiding the route and candles provided. Leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun.
Saturday’s festival begins at noon at the Alsea Bay Bridge Visitor Center and Museum, located at 320 NW Hwy. 101 in Waldport. For more information, go to findyourselfinwaldport.com.
