Sink into a good drama

Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike takes center stage on the Newport Performing Arts Center screen for the National Theatre Live presentation of "Inter Alia" on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Recorded before a live audience in London, the production stars the Olivier Award-winning actor as Jessica Parks, a judge whose carefully balanced life as a mother, wife, friend and legal professional is shattered by a single life-changing event. Written by Suzie Miller and directed by Justin Martin, "Inter Alia" reunites the creative team behind the international stage success "Prima Facie."

Best known for her performances in "Gone Girl" and "Saltburn," Pike leads a production that examines modern motherhood, masculinity and the ripple effects of trauma. The Financial Times called the play "simply superb," while Radio Times described it as a "raw, nuanced must-see."

National Theatre Live brings acclaimed productions from London's National Theatre to cinemas and performance venues around the world, allowing audiences to experience world-class theatre through high-definition filming and immersive sound.

Audiences should note that "Inter Alia" contains flashing lights and references to sensitive subject matter, including sex, violence, rape and other criminal activity.
