Raise the roof with INHOUSE

Hear some great live jazz in an intimate setting when INHOUSE Jazz @ the Coast opens its 2026 season with a concert hosted by vocalist Annie Averre in Newport this Sunday, April 19.

The informal performance will feature regional musicians Heather Keizur on vocals and Steve Christofferson on piano, melodica and vocals.

The Portland-based duo is known for blending classic American and French jazz standards with a joyful, swinging style and strong musical chemistry developed during more than 16 years of performing together.

Keizur and Christofferson have appeared at venues and festivals including the PDX Jazz Festival, Tula’s in Seattle and Snug Harbor in New Orleans. Their recordings, including their latest album “I Remember You,” showcase their interpretations of traditional jazz repertoire.

The series of intimate concerts began in August 2012 with a concert in Newport Heights that paired an art exhibit by local painter and sculptor Ann Miller with performances by regional jazz musicians, raising funds for the Oregon Coast Jazz Party. A New Year’s Eve gathering later that year in a South Beach home helped spark interest in expanding the concept.

The INHOUSE Jazz atmosphere is informal, providing an opportunity for audiences to enjoy an intimate concert free from the noise and distractions often associated with a restaurant or bar. There is no charge for these sessions, but a donation of $15 to $30 is suggested to compensate musicians. Funds collected beyond expenses are donated to support local arts and education. Guests are welcome to bring beverages and potluck treats.

Sunday’s concert is from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. To attend and receive the address, call Averre at 360-606-7136 or email aaverre@hotmail.com. For more information, go to inhousejazz.or.
