No rain checks for this Toledo bash

Fun will rain down on Toledo this Saturday, Nov. 29, when the annual umbrella parade pops up as a kick off to the town’s Christmas tree lighting and holiday party.

The parade, where people will travel carrying fancifully decorated umbrellas, begins at the top of Main Street and ends at the town’s tall tree in front of Cobblestone Pizza. The Toledo Jr/Sr High choir will be part of the parade, leading everyone in holiday songs.

The fun continues after the tree lighting at the Toledo Elks Lodge.

Santa will be there, along with holiday face painting, cookies, hot cocoa and cookie decorating for the kids.

Main Street will be closed for the event starting at 4 pm. Everyone is welcome to bring a decorated umbrella and participate in the parade.

Free, last-minute decorating supplies will be available on Saturday from noon to 3 pm at Bruster’s Whimsy on Main Street.

Arrive early and enter the decorated umbrella drawing — winning tickets will be drawn at the community Christmas party at the Elks. You must be present to win.

The Toledo Elks Lodge is located at 123 Alder Street. Bruster’s Whimsey is located at 139 S Main Street. For more information, call 541-336-3183.
