Newport library hosts veteran thriller author
A lifelong reader who became one of America's most successful thriller writers will share his story when Willamette Writers presents Phillip Margolin at Newport Public Library this Saturday, June 20.
Margolin, a multiple New York Times bestselling author, will discuss how he got started as a writer, the path that led to the publication of his first novel, "Heartstone," and the lessons he learned as a self-taught author.
Margolin, who was 35 years old when his first book was published, plans to talk about the importance of reading, perseverance and the unexpected breaks that helped launch his writing career. The presentation will also include plenty of time for audience questions, one of Margolin's favorite parts of any appearance.
Guests are encouraged to bring copies of Margolin's books for signing. Books will not be available for purchase at the event.
Saturday’s program begins at 2 pm at Newport Public Library, located at 35 NW Nye Street. For more information, go to willamettewriters.org.
