Market on the calendar

Celebrate local creativity at Newport’s Pacific Maritime Heritage Center this Saturday, Dec. 6, as the museum hosts its Holiday Artisan Market, a festive showcase of handmade work by coastal artists.

The event offers a joyful day of shopping, entertainment and seasonal fun overlooking Yaquina Bay.

Guests can browse booths from 18 local makers offering ceramics, jewelry, paintings, buoy art, candles, leatherwork, health products and more. The event also features a full lineup of live entertainment in the Doerfler Family Theater, including photos with Santa, holiday harmonies from the Coastal-Aires Barbershop Chorus and a closing set of country rock by James J. Ferguson.

Saturday’s Holiday Artisan Market begins at 10 am and continues until 3 pm at the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center, located at 333 SE Bay Blvd. in Newport. Admission to the museum is free during the event. For more information, go to oregoncoasthistory.org.
