Hear some Swede tunes in Tillamook

Enjoy an intimate afternoon of music and storytelling when internationally touring Swedish singer-songwriter Sofia Talvik performs at the Tillamook County Library in Tillamook on Thursday, April 16.

Part of her “Songs, Strings & Stories” tour, the performance brings Talvik’s signature blend of Nordic folk and Americana back to American audiences. Having toured extensively across Europe and the United States – performing in 49 states – Talvik returns following a 2025 tour that left a strong impression on audiences and helped deepen her connection with listeners across the country.

Her music is often described as both ethereal and grounded, weaving delicate melodies with lyrical storytelling that feels intimate yet expansive. With 10 full-length albums and a career that spans international stages, Talvik has built a reputation for captivating live performances that combine heartfelt songs with personal reflections from life on the road.

The “Songs, Strings & Stories” tour will travel through 45 cities in nine states, offering audiences an up-close concert experience that highlights Talvik’s distinctive songwriting and crystal-clear vocals. Each performance features a carefully curated setlist drawing from across her catalog, along with new material introduced on this tour.

“In times that feel uncertain and overwhelming, music can offer a moment of stillness,” Talvik said. “I can’t think of a better way to begin this tour than by sharing songs and stories in a place that feels like home.”

Talvik’s recent work includes her Christmas album “Wrapped in Paper,” which reached number three on the Folk Radio Charts in December 2025 and earned praise from The New York Times and NPR. Her sound has drawn comparisons to artists such as Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling, Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and Emmylou Harris, blending warm acoustic instrumentation with a deeply personal vocal style.

Thursday’s free performance begins at 3 pm at the Tillamook County Library, located at 1716 3rd Street. For more information, go to tillabook.org or call 503-842-4792.
