Have a grand time
Help make the summer a little brighter for local kids while enjoying an evening of live music at the “Joy Through Music” concert featuring Milo Graamans at the Newport Performing Arts Center this Thursday, April 30.
Admission is by donation, with all proceeds benefiting scholarships for Oregon Coast Council for the Arts Summer Youth Camps, helping make arts programming accessible to more local families.
The concert will feature a varied program of original compositions, classical selections and additional favorites, offering something for a wide range of musical tastes.
A familiar face in the local arts community, Graamans is a pianist, composer, singer-songwriter and sought-after accompanist. He serves as choir director at Yachats Community Presbyterian Church, performs with the Lincoln Pops Big Band and regularly appears with other ensembles throughout Lincoln County.
Funds raised through the concert will support immersive summer camps in performing and visual arts, giving young people opportunities to build confidence, creativity and connection through hands-on artistic experiences.
Thursday’s concert begins at 7 pm at the Newport Performing Arts Center, located at 777 W Olive Street. No advance ticket purchase is required — simply bring a donation, if you choose to, and your love of live music. For more information, go to coastarts.org/milo or call 541-265-2787.
