Habitat show is the natural choice
Connect with local businesses and support a good cause when Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County hosts its 4th annual Home and Garden Show in Newport this Saturday, April 11.
The organization’s largest fund-raiser of the year, the event brings together contractors, suppliers and businesses large and small, offering a platform to showcase products and services while helping community members find inspiration and resources for home improvement and decor projects.
Admission is free, ensuring broad access for the community, and the event will feature a full slate of activities and entertainment throughout the day. Visitors can enjoy performances by ArtFit, a drumming circle and free glitter tattoos for kids and the young at heart, along with dozens of raffle prizes and silent auction items.
More than a showcase of local talent and services, the Home and Garden Show plays a vital role in supporting Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County’s mission to bring people together to build homes, community and hope. Funds raised during the event help construct new homes for income-qualified families, provide critical repairs that improve safety and accessibility and offer matched savings programs to assist with down payments and home maintenance. Proceeds also support disaster recovery efforts throughout the region.
In addition to its homebuilding work, Habitat operates ReStores that accept donations of building materials, furniture and appliances, reselling them at affordable prices while diverting usable items from local landfills and generating revenue for its programs.
The event offers an opportunity for the community to come together, support local businesses and contribute to creating safe, affordable housing for families across Lincoln County.
Saturday’s event runs from 10 am to 3 pm at the Newport Recreation Center, located at 225 SE Avery Street. For more information, go to habitatlincoln.org.
