Fun is Brewing at Toledo Festival

The charming town of Toledo is throwing a blocks party, with Art, Oysters & Brews taking place all along a closed-off Main Street this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2 and 3.

The family-friendly celebration of creativity, community and coastal flavor offers something for everyone: explore booths featuring talented local and regional artists, enjoy live music, savor fresh oysters and cold craft brews and keep the kids entertained with fun activities like chalk art and a petting zoo.

Discover the heart of Toledo’s vibrant arts scene with a wide range of visual art, from painting and photography to sculpture and mixed media.

The stage will be rocking both days with a fantastic lineup: Saturday will feature Whole Lotta Louis, Wild Hog in the Woods and Tyler Spencer with his didgeridoo.

Sunday’s performers are Revel’n, Jane Doe and the always crowd-pleasing Johnny Wheels & the Swamp Donkeys.

Raise a glass in the beer and wine garden featuring regional craft brews, fine wines and ice-cold drinks. Treat yourself to fresh locally-sourced oysters from Timbers Restaurant & Lounge and grab something tasty from local food trucks and restaurants.

Whether you're a kid, a grown-up or somewhere in between, you can join the Chalk the Block art experience and add your own masterpiece to the sidewalks of Main Street. Participation is free and supplies are provided at the Arts Revitalization of Toledo booth.

Your artistry won’t just be celebrated, it will be rewarded. Judging takes place at 5 pm on Sunday, with cash prizes awarded for first and second place in four categories: kids aged up to 11; kids aged 12 to 18, adults; and group/family.

Art, Oysters & Brews is a project of the Arts Revitalization of Toledo initiative, launched in 2021 to support the economic development and rejuvenation of downtown Toledo. The committee includes community members, nonprofit partners, artists and local businesses all working together to revitalize Main Street and the business district of Toledo to serve the needs of current residents and breathe new life into the community.

The party will run from noon to 5 pm on Saturday, Aug. 2, and Sunday, Aug. 3, on Toledo’s Main Street. For more information, go to ArtToledo.com.
