Fiddle duo visits Lincoln City

Seattle-based fiddle duo Dale and Nell Russ will present a house concert and a pair of workshops this Saturday, Jan. 31, and Sunday, Feb. 1.

The house concert takes place in Lincoln City on Saturday, with location provided upon registration. On Sunday, the duo will lead two workshops at the Lincoln City Cultural Center: “Fiddle Techniques” followed by “Playing for Irish Dancers.” The second workshop is geared toward Irish session players of all instruments typically used in traditional sessions and focuses on the nuances that lift dance music.

Dale and Nell play “pure drop” traditional Irish music, with a fondness for the older, wilder side of the tradition and its deep connection to the natural world.

Saturday’s House Concert begins at 7 pm. Admission is $25 and pre-registration is required.

Sunday’s workshops begin with “Fiddle Techniques” at 1 pm followed by “Playing for Irish Dancers” at 3 pm. Each workshop costs $25 and advance registration is required.
