Easel-y the best choice for learning
The Newport Visual Arts Center is all about fostering the arts, and that includes helping young artists with classes, camps and workshops during the summer. And, now that schools are back in session, the popular Wednesday After-School Drop-In Art classes are back. Beginning October 1, and running through May 27, the program offers a creative and engaging outlet for young artists in grades 2 through 8.
The classes provide a flexible and affordable way for students to explore various art forms. Each session will feature a rotating list of instructors and activities, ensuring a fresh and inspiring experience each week. The program is designed to be accessible for families, with no pre-registration required.
Participants have the option to pay per class at the door for $20, or they can reserve a spot for an entire month for $50. A punch card for $50 is good for four drop-in art days throughout the school year, providing an even more flexible option. There will be no classes on November 26 due to Thanksgiving Break; December 24 and 31 due to Winter Break; or March 25 due to Spring Break.
Classes will be held from 3 to 5 pm at the Newport Visual Arts Center, located at 777 NW Beach Drive. For more information, go to coastarts.org or call 541-265-6540.
