An un-convent-ional kind of author
Hear bestselling author Joanie Lindenmeyer discuss love, authenticity and resilience during an author presentation at the Newport Public Library this Saturday, Feb. 7.
Lindenmeyer will share readings and stories from her memoir “Nun Better: An Amazing Love Story,” co-written with her late wife, Carol Tierheimer. The powerful memoir tells the extraordinary story of their 40-year romance when they met as Catholic nuns during a time when coming out was dangerous and rare. Lindenmeyer will also read from her follow-up book “Joyously Free!” written with co-author Elizabeth Ann Atkins and a team of first-time writers.
The program includes excerpts, video clips and discussion centered on courage, confidence and collaboration – themes Lindenmeyer calls the “3Cs” – along with practical writing tips and a short hands-on activity encouraging participants to find their authentic voice.
Saturday’s presentation runs from 3:30 to 4:30 pm in the McEntee Meeting Room at the Newport Public Library, located at 35 NW Nye Street. For more information, go to newportlibrary.org or call 541-265-2153.
