A very special samba-dy

Audience members will be transported from Newport to the heart of Brazil when Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Caro Pierotto performs at the Newport Performing Arts Center this Friday, Feb. 6.

The concert showcases Pierotto’s signature “Samba Chic” style, blending samba, forró, reggae and pop.

Known for a vintage-inspired vocal style and genre-crossing repertoire, Pierotto has built an international following through global touring through Indonesia, France, Mexico and the United Kingdom and collaborations with major artists like Pharrell Williams. Her 2023 album, “Sambalismo,” drew widespread acclaim, while her earlier release “Em Português” earned a place on the Grammy ballot for Best Global Music Album. Backed by a full band, the performance features original songs and fresh interpretations in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
