When the coast gets Crave reviews

There’s no need to tackle the Oregon Coast’s food scene in a single weekend. This October, you’ll have the entire month.

Crave the Coast returns Oct. 1 through 31, encouraging food lovers to travel the North Coast Food Trail from Astoria to Neskowin, sampling seasonal dishes, locally produced food and drink and culinary experiences along the way.

Participating restaurants and food businesses will offer special Crave Dishes inspired by seasonal ingredients, while other stops along the trail will offer experiences ranging from guided tastings to fishing trips.

At The Fish Peddler in Bay City, that means all-you-can-eat oyster Thursdays and fish-and-chips Fridays. Tillamook Creamery will offer an exclusive small-group ice cream experience and guided cheese tastings, while fishing charters will head out from Astoria, Garibaldi and Pacific City.

Additional events and experiences will be added throughout the month.

“Crave the Coast gives people a reason to explore the North Coast Food Trail and experience the variety of food and drink produced and served here,” said event coordinator Mariah Surat. “October is a great seasonal time to visit restaurants and food businesses throughout the region, try something new and discover places you may not have visited before.”

Visitors can also turn their food explorations into a chance to win prizes by sharing photos of their favorite North Coast food and drink experiences. Photos can be posted to Facebook or Instagram with @NorthCoastFoodTrail tagged or uploaded directly to the Crave the Coast website.

Crave the Coast runs throughout October at participating businesses from Astoria to Neskowin.
