Singer-songwriter Perry Gerber will return to his coastal roots for a hometown show and release party celebrating his debut album, “Dead For Awhile” at Lincoln City’s Beach Club Event Center this Saturday, Nov. 7.
The Perry Gerber Band will perform, with opening act Sleeper Wave and a screening of the award-winning music video for “Mon Amour,” the album’s closing track.
Gerber grew up in Lincoln City, where his family operated Gerber Tires for 45 years and where he first began playing music. After years performing on the local circuit and regional festival stages, he released his first full-length record in September.
Produced by Kevin Hahn of Opal Studio in Portland, “Dead For Awhile” is available on all major streaming platforms. Hahn, lead singer of the Journey tribute band Stone and Love, also sings and plays on the album.
The video for “Mon Amour” was filmed in Paris by director Joan Marshal and cinematographer Prakash Tharakan, then edited in London by Razvan Barseti. It has earned festival selections and award recognition from Starlight, Porto, the Love International Film Festival and Simi Music Video Fest. Portland filmmaker and writer Dawn Sellers served as creative director.
Gerber’s wife, Debbie, is the album’s executive producer, overseeing its release campaign, promotion and production. An actor with theater experience in Lincoln City, she established the Paris connection while working with Marshal and Tharakan on the film “Le Visage sous le Visage,” or “The Face Under the Face.” The same team later reunited to create “Mon Amour.”
Saturday’s show runs from 5 to 8 pm, with doors opening at 4 pm, at the Beach Club Event Center, 2020 NE 22nd Street, Lincoln City. Admission is $25. For more information, go to thebeachclublc.com.
