Silent night in Newport
A high-energy Silent Disco dance party will turn the Newport Performing Arts Center into a glowing, interactive dance floor this Saturday, Jan. 10, offering guests a chance to dance entirely to their own beat.
The event will feature a unique music experience where guests listen through wireless LED headphones instead of traditional speakers. Upon arrival, each participant will receive a set of headphones and choose between three live DJs spinning simultaneously on separate channels.
DJs Estivel Martinez, Tyler Spencer and Andres Antonio Hernandez will each perform a different style of music, with headphone lights glowing red, blue or green to show which DJ each dancer is tuned into. The result is a colorful, ever-shifting dance floor where multiple rhythms coexist at once.
One of the advantages of the Silent Disco format is its social flexibility. Guests can remove their headphones at any time to talk with friends without competing noise, then jump right back into the music when ready. The room remains lively without overwhelming volume, creating an atmosphere that is both energetic and comfortable.
Saturday’s dance party will begin at 7 pm at the Newport Performing Arts Center, located at 777 W Olive Street. Tickets are $20. For more information, go to coastarts.org or call 541-265-2787.
