It’s time you saw this in person
More than a century of tradition returns to Toledo this weekend when the Toledo Summer Festival & Logging Show takes over Memorial Field from Friday, July 10, through Sunday, July 12. The annual event combines carnival rides, food, entertainment and old-fashioned competitions that celebrate the community's timber heritage.
The event's signature attraction is the Logging Show, where amateur competitors test their skills in events inspired by the logging camps that helped build the region, such as the axe throw, obstacle pole, double buck saw, block toss and the always-popular chainsaw steeplechase.
Visitors can also enjoy a carnival, food and craft vendors, bingo, live entertainment and a beer garden throughout the weekend. Saturday’s Grand Parade through downtown Toledo, beginning at 11 am, remains one of the festival's most anticipated traditions, while Saturday night concludes with a fireworks display beginning at 10 pm. Families can also look forward to the Kids Logging Show, beginning at noon on Sunday, where younger participants can try their hand at activities such as log rolling, choker setting and plastic axe throwing.
Activities begin at 6 pm on Friday and 11 am on Saturday and Sunday at the Memorial Field in Toledo. Entry fees are $8 per day and free for kids aged five and younger. For more information, go to the Toledo Summer Festival & Logging Show page on Facebook.
