Hope you can make it

Feel your cares slip away and relax to the sounds of four-part harmony when the Coastal-Aires Barbershop Chorus presents “Imagine,” a concert of remembrance and hope at the First Presbyterian Church of Newport this Saturday, Sept. 5.

The Labor Day weekend performance will offer an hour of music reflecting on the country and the world, with a varied program ranging from Beatlemania to songs of the sea, Western favorites and patriotic numbers.

The chorus is a chartered member of the Barbershop Harmony Society and a nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping the distinctive tradition of barbershop harmony alive on the Oregon Coast.

Admission is by donation, with $10 suggested, though donations of any amount are welcome.

Saturday’s concert runs from 3 to 4 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Newport, located at 227 NE 12th Street. For more information, go to coastalaires.wordpress.com.
