Comedian hangs out in Newport

Get ready to laugh out loud when nationally touring comedian Sean Jordan performs at the Newport Performing Arts Center this Saturday, April 18.

One of the country’s most engaging stand-up voices, Jordan has appeared on Comedy Central and “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and is co-host of the popular podcast “All Fantasy Everything,” where comedians and guests draft pop culture favorites. Known for his relatable style and sharp storytelling, he has built a reputation as both authentic and hilarious on stages across the country.

His latest stand-up album, “Girl Dad” explores the highs and absurdities of fatherhood, from the IVF process that preceded his daughter’s birth to the vasectomy that followed. It’s the kind of comedy that makes you feel seen, even if you’ve never been through any of it yourself. His daughter, for her part, has praised Jordan’s talents as well — specifically his ability to “be tall” and “carry me upside down so I can walk on the ceiling.”

The performance offers a night of high-energy comedy in an intimate theater setting, with content that might include adult language and themes.

Saturday’s show begins at 7:30 pm at the Newport Performing Arts Center, located at 777 W Olive Street. Tickets are $30. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to coastarts.org/events/sjcomedy or call 541-265-2787.
