Circus sideshow is hard to top

There will be thrills and chills as Commander Salamander, Buttercup Firefly and the rarely seen Squid Dog perform two wildly exciting shows at Primaltones Community Venue in Newport this Saturday, Aug. 9.

The shows will include acts like cowboy trick roping, precision bullwhip cracking, world-famous knife throwing, modern dance, sword swallowing and trained animal acts. The show is also chocked full of safe and exciting audience participation, offering the chance to run away and join the circus — if only for a while.

Saturday’s shows will begin at 1 and 3 pm at Primaltones Community Venue, located at 2925 SE Ferry Slip Road in Newport. Tickets are $14.50.
