Artists with focus

Photography is in focus at the Blue Water Fine Art Gallery in Rockaway Beach with “Through Many Lenses,” a group exhibition featuring work by members of the Portland Photographers Forum.

Opening this Friday, Oct. 16, the exhibition brings together photographers with a wide variety of styles, subjects and perspectives, offering a look at the many ways a camera can transform both extraordinary scenes and everyday moments.

The public can meet the participating photographers at an opening reception this Saturday, Oct. 17. The free gathering will include light refreshments along with an opportunity to talk with the artists about their work and creative approaches.

The collection ranges from sweeping landscapes and images of local wildlife to intimate observations and more experimental work. Together, the photographs showcase not only technical skill but the individual choices each photographer makes about where to look, when to press the shutter and how to frame the world around them.

“Through Many Lenses” will remain on display through Sunday, Nov. 15.

Saturday’s opening reception runs from 5 to 7 pm at the Blue Water Fine Art Gallery, located at 119 S Miller Street in Rockaway Beach.  For more information, go to bluewaterfineartgallery.com.
