A perfect summer pair

Lincoln City’s own Pat Magada will bring heartfelt lyrics, soulful vocals and songs that stay with you long after the last note at a special end-of-summer concert at the Lincoln City Cultural Center this Saturday, Sept. 13.

Magada is seeking to bring the big production concert experience that larger cities offer to Lincoln City.

“I‘m building the summer concert I wish I had as a teenager,” he said in a promotional video on TikTok. “The idea is to bring the big-city concert vibe to our small coastal town.”

Think lights, a projector with music videos playing in the background and of course, a fog machine. Magada and his bandmate Will Goble are pulling all the stops for this event.

Magada is a singer-songwriter, producer and a Taft High graduate who has been surrounded by music from an early age. He learned to sing by watching his mom perform in bars in the Philippines before moving to the United States at age seven. At age 12 he won first place in Lincoln City’s Got Talent. From his early live performances and contests across Oregon to writing his first song, inspired by Bob Dylan’s “Knocking on Heaven’s Door,” he developed his impressive voice and recognizable sound to the level that has garnered him widespread acclaim. Most known for his song “Santa Cruz,” he is currently signed to the Philippines based record label Dreamify Records. Combining ’90s to ’00s Filipino rock, pop and electronic sounds with infectious melodies and meaningful storytelling, he is capturing the hearts of listeners everywhere.

Saturday’s concert starts at 7 pm at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, located at 540 NE Hwy. 101. General admission is $25 and student admission is $18.
