The touring monks begin their visit with a Ched Drol Ceremony at Samaritan Center for Health Education, 10 am, 740 SW 9th Street; followed by a Butter Sculpture and Sand Mandala workshop at Newport Public Library 2 pm, 35 NE Nye Street; and a talk on “Cultivating Compassion in Troubled Times” at the Center for Health Education at 6 pm.
