Get to the 2008 DB Wooden Boat Show

The 14th Annual Depoe Bay Wooden Boat Show and Crab Feed is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., harbor-side in downtown Depoe Bay.  More than 50 wooden boats, including many classics, are expected to be on display during two days of activities for kids of all ages.  The Crab Feed will be open both days during the same hours at the Depoe Bay Community Hall within gentle walking distance of the harbor.  Full crab dinners are priced this year at $15; half-dinners are $12.
Youngsters will be able to build their own model boats under adult supervision. There will be rowing races for all age groups. Many demonstrations are also planned, including kayak rolling, steam bending and seat caning, construction methods of rowing shells with sliding seats, and wood strip boat construction.  The U.S. Coast Guard will offer boat tours and videos. A highlight of the weekend will be the annual Ducky Derby.
The event is sponsored by the Depoe Bay Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds benefit Chamber projects year-round including the Depoe Bay Rowing Club. For more information about the event, contact the chamber at 541-765-2889. For information about exhibiting a boat, contact Jack Brown at 541-765-2633 or email mjbrown@centurytel.net.
