A classic fairy tale will bloom into life in Lincoln City this coming week as Missoula Children’s Theatre brings “Jack and the Beanstalk” to Taft High 7-12.
When Jack plants Wonder Beans in his backyard, it is the beginning of a great adventure. With a little help from P.T. Wonder and a Giant, Jack learns a valuable lesson about true happiness. This musical production also features a host of other characters, including the Elegant Harp, Jill, Mother, Milky White, the Farmers, the Merchants, the Circus Performers and — of course — the Wonder Beans themselves.
Auditions for the show will take place at 9 am sharp on Monday, Dec. 18, at the school, 3780 SE Spy Glass Ridge Drive.
Thanks to sponsorship from Studios to Schools: Music Is Instrumental, the Walter R. Behrens Foundation and Charlotte Lehto Insurance, the program is free to kids living in the Lincoln City area (from Rose Lodge to Depoe Bay). Kids from outside the area are welcome to participate for a $50 fee.
After the cast is selected, Missoula Children’s Theatre instructors will run them through rehearsals from Monday through Friday. The finished product will be performed at 3 and 5:30 pm on Friday, Dec. 22.
Admission to the performances is $5 for adults, $3 for kids aged six to 18, and free for kids under six.
