Newport’s Dancing Moon Press will celebrate new ownership this Saturday, Nov. 24, with founder Carla Perry passing the reins to Kim Cooper Findling of Bend.
The pair will seal the deal at a transition celebration running from 3 to 5 pm at the Newport Visual Arts Center, 777 NW Beach Drive, with all writers, authors, book enthusiasts and friends invited to attend.
Perry founded Dancing Moon Press in 1996, building the business into a full-service book production company. A graduate of the University of Iowa Writers Workshop, Perry is also the founder of the Nye Beach Writers Series and Writers on the Edge. She received the Stewart Holbrook Special Oregon Book Award, and the Governor’s Art Award for her contributions to Oregon’s literary community. She is the author of the novel and stage play “Riva Beside Me,” and three books of poetry, including “Wanderlust.”
Kim Cooper Findling brings a 20-year career as an award-winning author, journalist, editor and teacher to new leadership of Dancing Moon Press. She is the author of “Bend, Oregon Daycations: Day Trips for Curious Families;” “Day Trips From Portland: Getaway Ideas for the Local Traveler;” and “Chance of Sun: An Oregon Memoir,” and has worked as a magazine editor for the past 15 years.
