Stone rolls back into Newport

Oregon poet Doug Stone will read from his new chapbook, “In the Season of Distress and Clarity,” at the Newport Public Library this Saturday, Oct. 28.

A fourth-generation Oregonian, Stone lived in Newport in the ’70s, and now lives in Albany.

His poems have appeared in Fireweed, The Portland Review, The Oregonian, Cloudbank, Fault Lines, Riven Poetry Journal and the anthology, “A Ritual To Read Together: Poems in Conversation with William Stafford.” Stone won the Oregon Poetry Association’s Fall 2016 Poet’s Choice Award.

The reading, which is free and open to all, will start at 2 pm at 35 NW Nye Street.
