Get a free pass to one of the coast’s most iconic natural areas, while helping preserve its natural beauty. Volunteers are invited to join the Bureau of Land Management for a National Public Lands Day event at the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area on Saturday, Sept. 30.
The all-ages event will be one of many offered across the country that day to celebrate service in our nation’s treasured public lands.
Entrance fees will be waived, and special activities and educational presentations will be available throughout the park. Service projects will be offered from 11 am to 3 pm along various trails and at the Lighthouse Keeper’s Garden. Volunteers should meet at the Interpretive Center, and be sure to wear outdoor-appropriate clothing and footwear.
Lighthouse Tours will also be offered hourly between 11 am and 4 pm. Sign-ups for these 45-minute programs will start at 10 am in the Interpretive Center, and are first come, first serve.
