The Audubon Society of Lincoln City will head south this Saturday, Dec. 1, for a bird watching clinic at the Salishan Nature Trail, offering views of Siletz Bay and ocean beaches.

Siletz Bay is a winter resting grounds for thousands of waterfowl including Northern pintail, green-winged teal, American wigeon and even the occasional Eurasian wigeon. Bald eagles often put on a show and great blue herons and great egrets are always present.

This walk is sponsored by Lincoln City Parks and Recreation and Explore Lincoln City. No prior birding experience is required and binoculars and guidebooks will be provided. Most of this walk is on flat surfaces near parking.

The group will meet at 9 am in the west marketplace parking area at Salishan Resort. From Lincoln City, travel south on Highway 101 for three miles and turn right at the stoplight into the Salishan Marketplace.

Audubon Society of Lincoln City in partnership with Lincoln City offers free family friendly bird walks in Lincoln and Tillamook County.
