The Audubon Society of Lincoln City birders will be heading south this Saturday, April 14, for a bird-watching excursion along Alder Island Loop Trail in the Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
This mile-long trail through riparian and wetland habitat offers the chance of spotting birds of prey, a variety of ducks, warblers and early migrants, as well as other year-round residents.
The group will meet at 9 am in the parking lot on the east side of Highway 101 at the south end of the Siletz River Bridge.
No prior birding experience is required and binoculars and guidebooks will be provided. For more information, call 541-992-9720.
