The most musical van since Morrison

Published on November 6, 2018 12:52PM

The Newport 60+ Adventure Van will be heading south on Saturday, Nov. 10, whisking passengers away for a Gaelic adventure at the Yachats Celtic Music Festival.

Now in its 18th year, the festival thrills audiences with a lively blend of foot-tapping Celtic music, humor, scrumptious food and graceful dancers. Acclaimed performers from other countries will mix harmoniously with home-grown American masters to fill the village with traditional (and not so traditional) Celtic music.

The festival spreads throughout the town, with a “pub-style” format at the Yachats Commons, along with concerts at the Little Log Church and dancing at the Yachats Lions Club. Workshops, storytelling, jam sessions, gourmet food and drinks, plus a wide variety of vendors all await visitors.

The van will depart at 8 am from the Newport 60+ Activity Center at 20 SE 2nd Street, returning at around 5 pm. The cost for the trip is $33.

For more information, or to pay for a seat, drop by the center or call 541-265-9617.
