The National Organization for Women will hold its annual celebration and silent auction fund-raiser this Sunday, Nov. 11, honoring “Women Who Lead.”

“Help celebrate women who wildly exceed expectations in their everyday leadership roles in our community, at home, in entrepreneurship, in the workplace, and in public office,” said event co-chair Jalene Case.” Our special honoring of Women Who Lead, on this Veterans Day, will include recognition of everyone who has served in our military.”

The event will honor several local women for their commitment and action to better the lives of women and girls. Honorees will include Joanne Kittel, Jeanne St. John, Heather Fortner, Traci Flowers, Virginia Gibbs, Carol Von Strom and Angie Sremba along with the group’s 2018 Oregon Coast Community College scholarship recipient Cheyanne Bartolo.

Guests will get to enjoy appetizers and beverages against a backdrop of live classical guitar music by Lyra Carmer. A silent auction will be available, with proceeds going to support the work of the all-volunteer Central Oregon Coast NOW Foundation.

The event will run from 2 to 4 pm at the Newport Performing Arts Center, 777 W Olive Street.

Admission is by suggested donation of $5. Veterans are invited to attend the event free of charge.
