Oscar-nominated shorts are once again on the playlist for the Bijou Theatre’s winter film series, which begins this Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Newport Performing Arts Center.
The series will also include screenings of acclaimed US comedy “Lady Bird” as well as Sweden’s “The Square” and the enchanting French documentary “Faces Places.”
Screenings start at 7 pm in the Newport Performing Arts Center, 777 Olive Street.
Admission is $7.50 for adults and $7 for students, seniors and members of the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts.

The Bijou will also be screening the Oscar-nominated shorts at the Lincoln City Cultural Center from Tuesday, Feb. 27, through Thursday, March 1.
The program will feature live action nominations on Tuesday, Feb. 27; animation on Wednesday, Feb. 28; and documentaries on Thursday, March 1.
Admission is by suggested donation of $10.
