Organizers behind a pair of Yachats craft fairs are inviting artisans to apply for spots at the events, which see the town’s former school packed with creations from around the Pacific Northwest.
The Annual Spring Arts & Crafts Festival will run on Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, followed by the Annual Harvest & Holidays Arts & Crafts Festival on Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 3 and 4, both in the Yachats Commons at 441 Hwy. 101 N.
The festivals, both in their 21st year, are organized by Crafts on the Coast, which brings together nearly 70 artisans from throughout the Pacific Northwest for the juried events.
Vendors will show their handmade crafts, fine art and gourmet food in a warm, family-friendly environment. Each event features free tastings of gourmet food and provides a wonderful opportunity for experiencing art up close and personal with a chance to meet the artisans and watch craft demonstrations. Admission and parking are always free.
Artisans and gourmet food producers are encouraged to apply for these long-running, juried shows.
To receive an application package, call 541-547-4738 between 11 am and before 8 pm. The deadline for jury consideration for the Spring Festival is March 29. The deadline for jury consideration for the Harvest & Holiday Festival is September 15. Organizers encourage artisans to apply for both festivals at the same time if possible.
The Yachats Commons has become a fragrance-free zone and organizers can no longer accept applications from exhibitors with fragranced products.
Both festivals also feature community booths, available free of charge to organizations using handmade crafts as a fund-raiser.
