Ready, willing and a-bell?

Published on December 11, 2017 5:15PM

Whether you want to prance like a reindeer, scurry like an elf or waddle like Santa Claus himself, the Jingle Bell Jog is the perfect way to justify that extra helping of Christmas cake this season.

Now in its fifth year and hosted by the Lincoln City Recreation Department, the 5k event is open to runners, joggers, walkers, baby strollers and pets. Costumes are recommended and bells will be provided to all participants.

The run/walk will start at 9:30 am rain or shine on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Lincoln City Community Center. The out-and-back course will traverse the paved Head to Bay sidewalk along NE 22nd Street and West Devils Lake Road. Hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be served immediately afterwards.

Registration is $15 through Dec. 17, rising to $20 on race day.

To register, go to www.getmeregistered.com, or drop by the community center, 2150 NE Oar Place.
