Masque and you shall receive

Despite all its benefits, life in a small town comes with a few downsides, not least of which is always being recognized when you are out and about.

Now, folks fed up of life in the fishbowl have the perfect event to celebrate the holidays — UnMasque The Night, at the Newport Elks Lodge on Friday, Dec. 8.

This fund-raiser for the Olalla Center for Children and Families invites guests to dress up to the nines and to conceal their face beneath an elegant mask of their choosing.

Secure in their anonymity, guests will be able to enjoy an evening of illumination, entertainment and intrigue, all enhanced by an abundance of libations, nibbles and desserts.

The Bringetto Jazz Quartet will provide live music, while the delightfully delicate dancers of the Pacific Dance Ensemble dazzle the audience with a riveting performance.

Local performing artists Mary Eastman and Marc Maislen will emcee a live auction, offering sought-after experiences and treasures to last for generations.

Unmasque The Night will begin at 7 pm at the Newport Elks Lodge, 45 SE Moore Road.

Tickets, $55, are available by searching for “Unmasque The Night” at www.etix.com or by contacting the Olalla Center at 541-336-2254 or info@olallacenter.org.
