A new nutrition series from the Samaritan Cancer Program aims to teach cancer survivors about healthy shopping, eating locally and the impact of fresh, wholesome foods.

The “That’s My Farmer” series connect participants with fresh, local produce and provides a recipe book and engaging presentations from registered dietitians, health trainers and medical social workers. All local cancer survivors are welcome, no matter where they received treatment.

Sessions begin on Wednesday, May 23, at Newport’s Center for Health Education, located across from Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital. The Newport sessions will run from 5:30 to 7 pm every Wednesday through June 27.

Sessions at Lincoln City’s Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital start on Thursday, July 12, and runs from 5:30 to 7 pm every Thursday through Aug. 16.

The cost to enroll is $20 per person. For more information or to register, contact the Samaritan Cancer Resource Center at CancerResourceCenter@samhealth.org or by calling 541-768-2171 or 541-812-5888.
