We challenge you to stay in your seat when the Lincoln City Cultural Center fills with the music of the New World String Project, a brand new collaboration featuring instruments and music rooted in the Nordic, Celtic, and American folk traditions.
John Weed (fiddle), Aryeh Frankfurter (nyckelharpa, Celtic harp), Lisa Lynne (cittern, Celtic harp), and Stuart Mason (guizouki, guitar) will weave their shimmering tapestry of music and humorous tales this Friday, July 20.
Fiddler John Weed and guitarist Stuart Mason also play together in the Celtic band Molly’s Revenge, and Celtic harp master Lisa Lynne often performs in a duo with NWSP-mate Aryeh Frankfurter.
Fiddler John Weed is a classically-trained violinist who has spent the last 25 years immersed in traditional fiddle styles.
Aryeh Frankfurter has an uncommon approach to the Celtic harp and folk harp repertoire, and command of the unusual Swedish nyckelharpa (or keyed fiddle) and other stringed instruments.
Lisa Lynne has gained worldwide recognition for her original music featuring the Celtic harp and has released several internationally recognized recordings on the prestigious Windham Hill and New Earth Record labels.
Veteran artist Stuart Mason is known for his authentic vocals and nimble skills on guitar, mandola, and banjo. He has won awards for traditional singing, mandola, and songwriting.
The concert will take place at The Lincoln City Cultural Center, 540 NE 101, at 7 pm. Tickets are $15 advanced, $17 at the door, $10 youths. For more information or for ticketing visit www.lincolncityculturalcenter.org or call 994-9994.
