Artwork that literally puts the Oregon Coast on the map will be unveiled this Friday, Nov. 30, as tourism officials gather in Yachats to celebrate the westernmost stop on the Oregon Mural Trail.
The mural is one of seven based on Travel Oregon’s recent advertising campaign, titled “Only Slightly Exaggerated,” which showcases whimsical animation designed to capture the magical feeling of being in Oregon.
With murals established across the state, the Oregon Mural Trail aims to inspire Oregonians and visiting explorers to get outside and experience the natural wonders of each destination. Organizers hope the trail will also generate a sense of community pride, boost local economies and contribute to local arts and culture initiatives. Visitors can follow the mural trail through Forest Grove, The Dalles, Ontario, Prineville, Oakridge, Roseburg and Yachats to experience the magic of these Oregon communities.
On Friday, leaders from Travel Oregon, Oregon Cultural Trust, Oregon Coast Visitors Association and the City of Yachats will gather to unveil the Yachats mural from 4 to 5 pm at Yachats Brewing, 348 Hwy. 101 N.
