Newport’s Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital is seeking proposals for art to fill its new facility, scheduled for completion in early 2019.
The hospital plans to purchase art, as well as accept donations from both artists and collectors, for display throughout the 126,000-square-foot building, in lobbies, hallways, waiting areas, conference rooms and patient exam rooms.
Priority will be given to artists residing in Lincoln County, but artists with a strong connection to the area will also be considered.
All artwork selected must be suitable for a healing environment, incorporate nature themes, particularly with regional imagery and comply with infection control procedures.
Guidelines for submissions, as well as the proposal form, are available at the new hospital website, samhealth.org/NewHospitalNewport.
Proposals should be sent to the SPCH Art Advisory Committee at NewportHospitalArt@samhealth.org no later than Monday, April 2. Artists will be notified of award determinations this summer.
