Watercolors by Jo Ann Campbell hang alongside fused glass pieces by Mary Young in the latest Spotlight Show from Newport’s Yaquina Art Association.

Originally from New Jersey, Jo Ann Campbell retired to Arizona after a career spent at a nuclear power station. Always full of adventure, she and her husband left Arizona and traveled about the USA in a motor home, ending up in Newport in 2002.

Mary Young has been creating fused glass art for 10 years and enjoys the constant surprises, playing with color and making happy things. The interest in glass started with her father, who bought a glass kiln to experiment with. It just took off from there: exploring, trying new techniques and just playing around.

Born in Seattle, Young has lived in Newport for 11 years and has been a member of the Yaquina Art Association since 2007.

The show will be on display through Friday, Dec. 29, available to view from 11 am to 4 pm daily at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery, 789 NW Beach Drive.
