Manzanita’s Hoffman Center for the Arts will unveil the second annual Quilt and Fiber Art Show this Friday, July 14, with a public reception from 3 to 5 pm.
The show features pieces by artists who live full or part time in the three villages of Manzanita, Nehalem and Wheeler. Two thirds of the works will be available to purchase, with 30 percent of all sales going to the Hoffman Center.
The exhibit will be available to view through Sunday, July 23, from 3 to 5 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 1 to 4 pm on Sundays.
Artists will perform a series of demonstrations throughout the exhibit’s two-week run, each starting at 3 pm. On Saturday, July 15, Bonnie Sabel-Welte will show how to make quilted postcards. The following day, Sunday, July 16, Jeanine Rumble will cover the basics of expressive needle felting.
On Friday, July 21, Aina Tonjes will present a demonstration entitled “Creating Feathers,” followed on Saturday, July 22, by “Hand Applique” from Janet Surbrook.
