Lincoln City’s Chessman Gallery will shed some light on the area’s artistic talent this Friday, July 14, with the opening of “Illuminated,” the latest members’ art show from the Lincoln City Cultural Center.

The show will open with a public reception from 5 to 7 pm, offering the chance to mingle with some of the member artists while enjoying wine and light refreshments.

Gallery Director Krista Eddy said each year’s show has a theme to entice viewers and spur on the creativity of our member artists.

“This show always offers a dazzling array of different types of art from painting to jewelry, sculpture to textiles, up-cycled metal lamps to fused glass and pottery to metal work,” she said, adding: “This year the theme is “Illuminated”: a word of mystique and many definitions from ‘illuminated light’ to ‘gilded’ to ‘an inspirational idea.’ It is always a joy to view what the theme means to each individual artist involved in the exhibit.”

“The annual LCCC Members Art Show is essential to who we are as an organization,” said cultural center Executive Director Niki Price. “We are here to serve our local artists and the arts community, and to provide ways for our friends and neighbors to express themselves creatively.”

The show will run through Aug. 5 available to view from 10 am to 4 pm daily except Tuesdays at the Chessman Gallery, located inside the cultural center at 540 NE Hwy. 101
